The Dutch ship Aquitana docks at the port of Montreal carrying immigrants seeking to try their luck in Canada. After having closed its borders to immigration during the Depression and the war, after the war Canada began once again to welcome new arrivals from regions that had been devastated or perturbed by political strife.
